As China exerts its power, the craziness of semiconductor equipment will continue
Editor's note: This year marks the 66th year since China made semiconductors an important national development field in 1956. Looking back on 66 years of development, from scratch, from small to large, the semiconductor industry has experienced ups and downs while bursting with infinite vitality. As China's "14th Five-Year Plan" puts forward the digital economy development plan and targets strategic fields such as integrated circuits, the semiconductor industry has launched a series of special topics on "Localization Process" to describe the development process of various fields of China's semiconductors today and analyze the new trend of localization. This issue is the second article of the semiconductor industry chain special topic "Localization Process": Semiconductor Equipment.

Material shortage affects semiconductor equipment delivery schedule, and the annual growth rate of wafer foundry production capacity will converge to 8% in 2023
According to TrendForce, semiconductor equipment is once again facing the dilemma of extended delivery times ranging from 18 to 30 months. Before the equipment delivery times were extended, it was estimated that the global 12-inch wafer foundry production capacity in 2022 and 2023 would be equivalent to annual production capacity. The growth rates are 13% and 10% respectively. It is currently observed that the impact of semiconductor equipment delay events on the 2022 production expansion plan is relatively slight. The main impact will occur in 2023, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TSMC), United Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (UMC), and Power Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. PSMC), Vanguard, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), GlobalFoundries and other industries will be affected, covering mature and advanced processes. The overall expansion plan will be delayed by about 2 to 9 months. It is expected that This will reduce the annual growth rate of production capacity to 8%.
SMIC aggressively launched 10 IPOs to support domestic equipment and materials!
Xinxi reported on June 20 that Huahai Qingke, the leader in domestic CMP (Chemical Mechanical Polishing) equipment, recently went on the market. Its 12-inch CMP equipment broke the monopoly of international giants and manufactured wafers for domestic wafers such as SMIC, Huahong and Yangtze Memory. The manufacturer provides autonomous and controllable CMP equipment. It is worth noting that Huahai Qingke’s first 12-inch equipment was shipped to the domestic wafer foundry leader SMIC for verification, and the company has also become a domestic leader in the field of CMP equipment with the company of SMIC.
Semiconductor equipment is making huge profits, and the domestic production rate of dry glue removal, etching, polishing, and cleaning is increasing again
On the evening of July 5, the semiconductor equipment company - Micron Corporation released its 2022 interim performance forecast. The company expects operating income in the first half of 2022 to be approximately 1.97 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of approximately 47.1%; the net profit attributable to the parent company is expected to be 420 million yuan. to 480 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.89% to 21.02%; during the same period, the net profit after non-deductions was 410 million to 450 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 565.42% to 630.34%.
